Survey IX
Mission statement
INS Missahan is a Survey frigate on a five-year mission to explore lost colonies and bring them back into contact with the Empire, preferrably on an amicable basis. As an experiment in troupe-style play, each player is playing one character in each of four teams: the multidisciplinary scientists who carry out the explorations, the diplomats who bring the colonies into the Empire, the marines who haul everyone's arses out of any fires, and the command crew of the frigate that carries the mission to its destinations. In particular, each player is playing the leader of one of those teams, so that together they make up a fifth team, the heads-of-departments meeting. In theory, this ought to allow an issue to be discovered by the scientists, passed to the heads-of-department for an executive decision, and then handed back to teh scientists, or to the marines, or to the warship for action, remaining entirely in the hands of PCs throughout.
